It truly didn’t hit me until I read it a second time. So beautiful and haunting in a way! 👏

I love how you not only let your readers sink into the feeling of blue, but own it. Brown eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes— for a moment, we all had blue.

I really love this — it’s absolutely beautiful and so complimentary of my short poem. thank you so much!! 🤍

felt this!! some people must feel we own sadness, that it is swimming in our blue eyes, maybe they think if they got close enough they could make it go away?

thank you! and i love the way you put it — that’s an interesting take. are you suggesting the sadness almost draws people in, because it is a “challenge” for them to attempt to solve?

my interpretations may not be what you expected ahaha! the poem just made me feel this subject wanted to get closer to the speaker through her sadness, speaks to that whole ‘i can fix them’ motive for me, love it!

Owning light, blue eyes myself drew me in to the moment 💙 ✨️

Your choice to hide the duality was felt deeply 😔

Thank you 😊

of course! as a blue-eyed person myself, i often get told i have sad eyes. i realized that blue and sad could be interchanged, and the idea warped itself into this.

thank you for reading!! <3

What a poem of color!

Blue as color, blue as sorrow.

The moment she realized which one he meant.

She knew she was being read.

Being seen isn't always a comfort. Sometimes it's the thing that finally breaks you. You captured that perfectly.

Beautiful done, my poet.
